The Harmony of the World: Introductory Class, Part I

Megan Beets of the Harmony of the World Basement Team gives Part I of an introductory presentation to launch the second edition of the Harmony of the World pedagogical website. Here is presented the historical and political context of Johannes Kepler’s seminal work. Part II (found here) presents the significance of the problem of tempering in the musical system, and how Kepler discovers tempered harmonies in the motions of the planets of the Solar System.
