Helga Zepp-LaRouche Welcomes U.S. Court’s Ruling to Investigate Saudi Role in 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

In a potentially history-making ruling, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York overturned Dec. 19 a previous Federal Court decision that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (K.S.A.) was immune from civil lawsuits arising from the September 11, 2001 attacks. “This means a sensational turnabout in the cover-up of those attacks, which has changed the world more than any other event since the assassination of John Kennedy,” wrote Helga Zepp-LaRouche on Dec. 20. “It will have dramatic consequences.”

The Court of Appeals reversed the 2005 ruling by District Judge Richard Conway Casey, holding that “the circumstances of this case are ‘extraordinary,'” and sending the case back to the lower court “for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.”

What is crucial, Zepp-LaRouche stressed, is to uncover not only those who masterminded those fateful 2001 attacks, which have put the United States well on the way to becoming a police-state, including with the meta-surveillance apparatus of the NSA, but also those who have deliberately and systematically covered up the crimes. She then references the bipartisan resolution introduced Dec. 3 by Congressmen Walter Jones, a Republican, and Stephen Lynch, a Democrat, calling for the public release of the 28 pages of the report issued by the Congressional Joint Inquiry into the 9/11 attacks, which were initially classified by President George W. Bush and have remained classified under President Barack Obama. Those 28 pages deal by all accounts with Saudi financing and support for the hijackers.

Both Jones and Lynch are urging all of their Congressional colleagues to read those classified pages, which remain censored for the American public and the victims’ families. Their initiative has been widely covered in the U.S. press, including in the New York Post.

If a U.S. court can determine, notes Zepp-LaRouche, that those 2001 attacks were not orchestrated by a bearded Osama bin Laden in the mountains of Afghanistan, but with the complicity of the Saudi government and the then-Saudi Ambassador to Washington, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, this will directly discredit the entire “war on terror” in Afghanistan, followed by the bloodbath in Iraq, which are still ongoing.

The consequences will be monumental, she believes. “In the meantime, institutional forces in the United States have understood that the war on terror was a total failure and that, contrary to Obama’s claim that al-Qaeda has been defeated, the whole Near and Middle East region, reaching down to North and Central Africa, have become a breeding ground for al-Qaeda-linked networks. The French secret services, above all, have warned that this constitutes an enormous threat for all of Europe.

“Exposing this monstrous story is mainly urgent because the truth about the policy of the past 12 years, which will inevitably lead to the truth about the policy of the past quarter of a century since the collapse of the Soviet Union, will contribute in a fundamental way to stopping the current war drive against Russia and China. Because it was and is the policy of the Empire — i.e., to try and make the entire world bow to the global oligarchical system — which engendered this monstrosity.”
